New York (USA) - part 1

Na początku i końcu naszej wyprawy do Stanów spędziliśmy kilka dni w Nowym Jorku.

W porównaniu z pięknymi parkami narodowymi, zatłoczone miasto wypadło blado. Ma swój urok, ale jest tam tyle ludzi, że nie za bardzo można spokojnie pozwiedzać.

At the begining and at the end of our trip to USA we spent some days in New York.

Comparing to amazing national parks, this overcrowded city is not the biggest attraction. It has its charm, but it is so busy and full of people making it hard to enjoy it.

Zaczynamy od Times Square - dzień i noc pełne migających reklam i ludzi. Zrobienie dobrego zdjęcia albo filmiku graniczy z cudem. 

Let`s start with Times Square - day and night full of flashing neons and people. It`s impossible to take a decent picture or a short movie.

Słynny Central Park - po prostu wielki park, gdzie można usiąść na trawie lub nad wodą, lub wypożyczyć łódkę. Myślę, że dla mieszkańców NY to dobre miejsce na relaks.

Famous Central Park - just huge park where people can sit on the grass, around water or rent a boat. I think it is very good place for NY inhabitants to relax.

Pomnik upamiętniający atak terrorystyczny z 11. września - w miejscu wież zostały puste miejsca z wodą spływającą w dół - przyznam, że będąc tam, czułam się bardzo poruszona. Świadomość, że zginęło tam tak wielu niewinnych ludzi jest niezwykle przygnębiająca.

9/11 Memorial - in the place where were 2 twin towers there is an empty space with water flowing down - I have to admit it was very touching. Knowing that so many innocent people died there was very depressing.

Nowy Jork jest ogromny i ma sporo miejsc na spacery i do relaksu, np. Park Waszyngtona. Najbardziej charakterystycznym jego elementem jest łuk triumfalny wybudowany, aby uczcić setną rocznicę wyboru G. Waszyngtona na prezydenta Stanów. Po parku biega wiele wiewiórek upominających się o coś do jedzenia.

New York is huge and has many spots for walks and relax, for example Washington Square Park. The most characteristic part of it is a triumphal arch built to celebrate centennial of G. Washington`s inauguration as president of the USA. In the park there are many squirrels begging for food.

Chyba wszyscy znają film "Ghostbusters". Niektóre sceny były kręcone w NJ, my odwiedziliśmy budynek straży pożarnej.
I think almost everyone knows "Ghostbusters" movie. There are some scenes shot in NY, we have visited the firestation.

Na koniec 2 nocne zdjęcia Manhattanu. Tyle zobaczyliśmy na początku naszej wyprawy, resztę tuż przed odlotem do Europy. O tym w następnym poście.
